"The pay is horrible. There is no order in Management. Chances of upward movement is rare. They only allowed you to accrue 4 hours of Paid time off per pay period. You work for a month straight and you only accrue enough hours for 1 day off. For such little pay, they also do not assist with transportation."

Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) says"You are basically a contracted out caseworker that does NOT get paid enough for the type of work that is expected of you, orientation is all a scam and a lie. You do not move up in the company..there is no where to move up! You generally end up locked in as a CSR (answering phone calls all day long) you are told you will have time in between calls and it's okay time wise on the phone. This is A LIE. Your call times are required to be under 6 minutes and you are NOT allowed time in between calls. *you only get 30 minutes out of a whole 8-10 hours of time you are able to be off of calls* 30 minutes!!! That means most of that is used for the bathroom throughout the day. This is not a good company. They do not care about the employees well being by any means. None.Everything."

They do not offer sick days, personal days or vacation days. Only PTO is offered. You get an hour of PTO each week only. There isn't much room for advancement anyway, only if an upper level person quits or retires, which doesn't happen very often. The manager I had played favorites. Disability Assessor (Former Employee) says"Do not apply for this job; you will regret it. Huge turn over of healthcare professionals (assessors) despite a good salary says it all. They (the company) cannot retain their staff and cannot even hire new one. According to managers and directors, this is due to the "hard" job and training. An odd argument considering that the majority of healthcare professionals have worked hard to achieve their degrees and they have experience in stressful hospital settings such as ICU and A&E; this also does not explain the company's inability to retain current, established staff. The reality is that the management is the problem being extremely unprofessional, inept and mostly ignorant with regards to medical conditions and diseases, pushing real professionals away from that toxic environment. The job itself does not require any clinical skills despite what the company may claim. Their feedback on your assessments defies medical knowledge and cannot be taken seriously, examples of some feedback received: “the client may have benefited from glasses”, not really when the cause of his/her blindness was not related to an eye refractive deficit but due to a neurological problem after suffering from a stroke (occipital lobe); or “you conclusion is not medically based...hyppocampal sclerosis does not cause dementia type symptoms...”, when a letter from the client's consultant neurologist clearly stated the contrary. Don't bother to discuss their feedback with them; it will be seen as a “challenge” to the status quo and goes nowhere apart from putting your name on their blacklist. Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) says"You think your coming to do a reputable job to help people and it is definitely not like that at Maximus which explains the revolving door they have of agents coming and going. All they care about is METRICS if you enjoy been scrutinized and micro-managed for your 8.5-hours a day then this is the place for you to come to. Every second of the day you are surveilled!!! The manager hounds your supervisor to constantly keep you in line. You are on the phone back to back for long calls, that are recorded and graded your always on the prowl of your monthly rating nothing is about customer service or health related. YOU DO NOT GET PAID ENOUGH FOR ALL THE WORK YOU HAVE TO DO YOUR ON THE PHONE FOR 8-HOURS STRAIGHT. All your supervisor talks about is numbers and the "bonus" you might mess up for them if your numbers are not perfect. You are 0.5 seconds over on your 15 min break or 30 min lunch and you're been blasted through walk-talkies so the team leads can hunt you down. You get a 15 min break and you leave at 12:00 you must be back and ready before 12:15 so its really like a 10 minute. The system constantly has issues but when they are reviewing all your calls and your daily numbers it's on you not the system. It's like grade school all over again but concentration camp style. Besides all of this there is a lot fakeness like most call centers and the favoritism is evident, which does not bother me but it's still unethical. You can forget about it it doesn't matter how many times how many ways you send you Supervisor a message letting them know you need help, they won't respond. I logged of at the beginning of my shift because I was trying to let the Supervisor know that I needed help there was no response and when I logged at the end of the day I checked to see if he responded back and he didn't even notice that I left hours earlier. He didn't respond at all, all day!!DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!"
